Lots of research suggests that the bacteria in our gut can affect our mental health. whilst the gut influencing the brain may seem unlikely, common phrases in the English language suggest that a link between the gut and the brain is intuitively accepted – gut wrenching, gut feeling – even butterflies in the stomach. Especially in the case of PTSD which is thought to be a low grade inflammation – lots of foods can be anti-inflammatory, like fruits and veggies!
